But I really hope things don’t happen like that for Castle & Beckett. As much as I’d love to see little Caskett babies running around, I’d feel cheated if the relationship took such a huge step forward. I want to see Castle and Beckett take it slow, I want to see them bubbling with awkward butterflies as they prepare for their frist date. I want to see them discussing something besides a murder during a fancy dinner, and positively glowing as they smiled at each other.
And then, as Castle walks her back to her apartment, they say goodnight, each overflowing with emotions and desires. Castle, being a gentleman, will respect Beckett’s wish to “take it slow”, and end the evening with a light peck on the cheek, causing both of them to blush like children.
Then, as Castle bids her ado and walks away, Beckett will clumsily drop her keys at the door, reach down to pick them up, and (suprising even herself) mutter “Castle,” causing him to stop and turn. And then…only then, in the heat of the moment, Beckett will run to him and the two will kiss passionately before Kate pulls away, (slightly red in the cheeks) and says: “I just had to get that out of my system”.
“You’re making it really hard for me to keep my promise,” Castle will joke. Beckett will bite her bottom lip, desperately trying to keep the exact same confession from escaping her mouth.
And the night will end like that. As much as I want these two to just have explosive sex, I’d rather see the romance that leads up to it. I also think this would be the best way for the writers to keep the show the same, while still feeding the shippers. We’d tune in for the same dynamic, and every couple of episodes we’d get a glimpse into Castle and Beckett’s relationship getting closer. And then in one episode, we’d have their relationship turn very, very, physical! :D
